Delicious is delicious, how easy is it now going to be for me to find all my favourite things, wherever I may be. Being able to have great sites to share with friends and colleagues and to sort through them all using tags is fantastic. Having this sort of tool available to library customers who don't have their own computer would be invaluable. Going back over this tool I realised that it wasn’t really as straight foward as I first thought. You really need to know what you are doing to set this up. At the moment I’m trying to set it up on my home computer and it gave me a few headaches.

I think social tagging could do great things for both the reference desk and to enable all staff to contribute links for workroom based activities - suppler websites, cataloguing resources etc. Suddenly these lijks are available to all and wont be lost. Saves time by reducing duplication of effort.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Delicious is delicious. I will be using it more at work now I know about it!
ReplyDeleteYes I think a lot of these things do what we have been doing - but in a much easier way.
ReplyDeleteIt just needs people to not be too precious about things like cataloguing and subject headings!
